Lift or soften nasolabial folds
The nasolabial fold is the line that runs from the nose towards the corners of the mouth and develops over time due to a loss of volume in the skin. Doctor Brandt specializes in lifting the nasolabial fold, achieving beautiful and natural results.
Nasolabia fold treatment Amsterdam
By restoring volume loss with hyaluronic acid, this skin fold is naturally softened, giving the appearance a visibly fresher look.
Nasolabia fold treatment
By using hyaluronic acid and other types of fillers, the support points of the face can be strengthened by replenishing lost hyaluronic acid and stimulating the production of new collagen. The result is a natural firming of the skin, softening the nasolabial fold (similar to the movement of the skin from the cheek towards the ear). To achieve an additional lifting effect, endolifting can be a valuable addition. In endolifting, the collagen from your own skin is utilized to provide extra firmness for a lifting effect.
The nasolabial fold becomes deeper as we age due to a combination of factors. The main cause is the reduction of supporting tissues (such as hyaluronic acid, elastin, and collagen) in the cheeks and cheekbones, causing the skin to sag under the influence of gravity. The result is the visibility of skin folds, such as the nasolabial fold, and sagging corners of the mouth.
Depending on the cause of the problem, the doctor will propose a customized treatment.
A filler treatment takes approximately 15-20 minutes. The doctor may choose to use a cannula (a modern needle with a round tip), making the treatment even safer, and you will feel little during the procedure. Afterward, you can go home almost without restrictions. The doctor will provide advice on proper aftercare. The result is immediately visible and typically lasts up to a year.
Endolifting is a revolutionary new treatment that allows sagging skin to be lifted without surgery and without using materials that remain in the skin (such as thread lift with PDO threads or silhouette soft). In this technique, collagen fibers in the skin are intertwined using a type of acupuncture needle and an energy source. The intertwined collagen threads have a strong lifting effect, similar to moving the skin from the cheeks towards the ears. Ask your doctor about the possibilities.

Frequently asked questions
A filler is, as the name suggests, a filling substance. It is a generic term widely used for temporary fillers applied to the face or body. The most commonly used fillers are made of Hyaluronic Acid – a naturally occurring building block of the skin. In addition to Hyaluronic Acid, collagen-stimulating fillers such as Radiesse or Sculptra are also used.
The result of a filler treatment depends on the type of filler used and the layer of the skin in which it is placed. For example, a ‘firm filler’ in a deeper skin layer will provide a lifting effect on deeper folds, while a ‘soft filler’ in a superficial skin layer will soften a superficial wrinkle. For optimal results, a combination of different types of fillers in various skin layers is often applied.
For a filler treatment, usually only a local anesthetic is applied with a small injection or a numbing cream. Depending on the type of treatment, the most effective option will be suggested for a comfortable experience. If you find it very nerve-wracking or are afraid of needles, let us know, and we can work together to make the treatment as pain-free as possible.
Fillers like Hyaluronic Acid and Radiesse are naturally broken down by the body over time. On average, results are visible for about a year, with the effect gradually diminishing. If you like to keep track of the results, you can consult with the doctor throughout the year to determine where a ‘touch-up’ may be possible. In some cases, with firmer fillers, results can last for years.
The recovery after a filler treatment is generally mild. After the treatment, there may be local mild swelling, redness, or discomfort—this is entirely normal and usually subsides within 24-72 hours. Occasionally, a small bruise may occur at the injection site, which typically fades within a few days. Significant bruising is rare. Generally, immediately after the treatment, it’s barely noticeable that you’ve had a procedure. Within a few days, the filler settles into the skin, and the filler may attract a bit of extra water, enhancing the effect. Most people experience the ‘wow-effect’ 2-4 weeks after the treatment.
A treatment with fillers has a favorable risk profile compared to surgical procedures. Like any medical treatment, there are risks to consider. The most common issues are not severe and can be easily corrected. If a filler ends up in the wrong layer of the skin, a small bump or swelling may occur. This is often easily corrected with a solvent, especially with soluble hyaluronic acid fillers. The likelihood of bumps due to fillers is very small when choosing an experienced cosmetic doctor KNMG.
In extremely rare cases, there may be an allergic reaction or infection (less than 0.1%). Also, in very exceptional cases, a filler may impede blood vessel flow. In such cases, the doctor can usually inject a solvent with precision using an ultrasound to restore blood flow. Dr. Brandt has extensive knowledge of treating complications and has contributed as an author to the Dutch field norm for non-body-degradable fillers. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
